The Thrilling Life of the Unemployed

I'm officially unemployed and today I started looking for jobs. I don't think it has completely set in that I won't be getting a paycheck on a regular basis. Despite the fact that I'm no longer a contributing member to society, today has been fairly productive. I applied for jobs, made a much needed trip to the gym, walked the dog, walked the dog again...and again and again. The weather has been awesome today and Fezzik wanted to journey outside whenever the opportunity presented itself. He is resting now and I'm actually pretty happy about that. After spending time on a treadmill and eliptical trainer today my legs are very jello-y.

So I've been alone all day minus my furry companion and I haven't talked to many people excluding my mother and boyfriend. I've gotten a lot of housework done. The laundry for this week is washed, the furniture is free of dust, our mirrors are smudge-less and the dishes are done...almost. I was going to be incredibly productive and continue cleaning but I figured I should pace myself since I have a full week of unemployment ahead of me.

With my current state of no income I have decided to teach myself to cook. Tonight I made a spicy shrimp sandwich with avocado, jalapeno mayo. I got the recipe off of pinterest and while it was good I have a feeling that I won't be trying it again. There is something about avocado and mayo that doesn't quite do it for me. Tomorrow I'm going to try my hand at toasted ravioli which is yet another pinterest recipe. I love that website a little more than I should. It's a nice tool to have since I'm determined to perfect my cooking skills. It's also a nice website to find pictures of houses that only exist in fairy tales and wedding dresses that cost a million dollars. A girl can dream...

I met with an old enemy today known as "the gym". The gym and I have had a love hate relationship for many years now. I had planned to cut all ties with it and I was successful with that for over a year. Unfortunately, my love handles and back boobs have grown in size and I have to do something about it. My only option, besides eating healthier, was to start a gym routine again. It really wasn't horrible. As I have mentioned before my legs hurt terribly but I think I can fit a daily gym visit into my terribly busy housecleaning, dog walking and food cooking schedule. Cody and I are having a weight loss challenge and I am determined to win. We've bet a labor day vacation on this weight challenge and if I win we will be hunting sasquatch in the Pacific Northwest. We'll see what happens. I'm sure we'll scratch all other vacation options and just make a week of it in New Orleans. Regardless, I'm pretty excited at the thought of going on a vacation. I hope to have a job by then.

Alright, I should log off and take the dog child out to pee. Goodnight all
